Financial Depression- Sheikh Sulaiman Moola

Every man in in crisis. The only way to avert financial depression is to convince yourself that Allah is the sustainer (the Provider)
"Verily the one who relies on Allah takes life easy"
When you convince yourself that Allah is the Provider, the fluctuation in the currency, the prediction of the economist, competitors in the market will not make any difference to you....

“And whoever fears Allah, for him Allah brings forth a way out, and gives him provision (rizq) from where he does not even imagine…” (Surah At-Talaq: 2/3)

How can I.................

How can I believe when "lie" just lies in the centre of "believe"

How can I Love when there is "over" in "Lover"

How can I be friends with anyone when we know "end" is there in "friend"

How can I trust anyone when there is "rust" in "Trust"

How can I live a life when there is "if" in "life"?

ALLAH has "ALL" in Him, therefore, I trust, love & believe in ALLAH being the best of ALL!

Quote by Mufti Menk Ismail

Life was not given to us to be perfect. Every single person will go through tests & hardships. Nobody will have a perfect life.

Life must have it's ups and downs.

Those who resign to the Decree of the Almighty & are pleased with it, lead the happiest lives. Try ur best & leave the rest in His Hands.

Paradise would lose it's value if life was to be perfect!

Life is also too short to be lead in the disobedience of the One we will very soon return to.

We get so caught up in this material world and before we know it, we have returned to the Almighty unprepared.

Prepare for the inevitable too.

When our pleasure is sought through His displeasure, we stand to lose much. It is definitely not worth the deal.

The Size of the Earth

When people stand up and begin walking, they feel no pressure in an upward or downward direction. Sitting, walking, and running are exceedingly mundane activities. Yet each time people engage in such activities, they are completely unaware that they are resisting a very powerful gravitational force.

The most important reason for this is the size of Earth. If it were just slightly smaller, gravity would be far weaker, the planet’s atmosphere would fragment and disappear, and we would be unable to remain stable in the world. If the Earth were larger, gravity would increase considerably and various poisonous gases would make our atmosphere lethal. Even if we managed to protect ourselves from these gasses, we would be unable to move.

Yet such a problem never arises, because Earth’s size has been determined in a manner that makes human life possible. The conditions that combine are so delicate that there is no way even one of them could have come about by chance. Scientists have calculated the odds of such an event as 1 in 10123.1 Clearly, the accidental formation of an environment suited to life is impossible.

Were Allah willed so, He could make each star and planet suitable for life, arrange matters so that human beings had no need to eat or drink, breathe gasses in specific proportions, or gravity or the Sun. But Allah, Who created all that exists, willed to bring together all of the astonishingly detailed conditions necessary for life to remind people that He created and controls everything and to give us the opportunity to appreciate His infinite might and turn to Him:

He to Whom the kingdom of the heavens and Earth belongs. He does not have a son, and He has no partner in the Kingdom. He created everything and determined it most exactly. (Surat al-Furqan, 2)

Thinking seriously about faith...

A person comes across hundreds of things to distract his attention in the course of the day. During the busy daily life, it is only possible to deepen one’s faith and reflect with more certainty on the existence of the Hereafter by way of true faith. In particular, thinking about death and realizing that that one’s existence in this world will come to an end at a time appointed by Allah (God) and that one can embark on one’s eternal life at any moment take on a very distinct form in the mind.

That is because with death, many worldly things that had been of such value up until then, that had seemed so important and had such time expended on them, will lose all significance. The proximity of Paradise and Hell can be better realized with this seriousness of faith that thinking about death brings with it. One obtains a deeper understanding of the proximity of the Hereafter and that the world is merely a place of testing. People who do not understand faith as it requires have a vague view of death and the Hereafter in the life of this world. But when faced with death, this vagueness will become a sharp accuracy, and all these people will grasp the reality of the Hereafter in full clarity. This clear understanding at the moment of death is revealed as follows in the Qur’an:

The throes of death come revealing the truth. That is what you were trying to evade! The Trumpet will be blown. That is the Day of the Threat. Every self will come together with a driver and a witness: “You were heedless of this so We have stripped you of your covering and today your sight is sharp.” (Surah Qaf, 19-22)

The words “… You were heedless of this so We have stripped you of your covering...” in the verse are to be interpreted in terms of people living heedless of the transitory nature of the life of this world, the existence of the Hereafter and the Day of Judgment. At the moment of death, however, even someone who has never thought about Paradise and Hell during his life acquires a far sharper perspective and clear understanding. But that person’s test is now over and the verdict has been given. There is no way back. There is no possibility of one’s wish that “I have understood the reality, so let me start my test all over again” becoming a reality.

Since believers have a great fear of encountering such a situation in the Hereafter they spend their lives looking for ways to draw closer to Allah and have a deeper faith. Believers look only to Allah’s good pleasure, mercy and Paradise. Everyone must achieve a serious comprehension of the proximity of Paradise and Hell before the moment of death arrives, and must turn to our Almighty Lord.

The miracle of seed

Everyone knows what a seed is..

But perhaps they have never considered how countless different plants come from a little thing that looks like a piece of wood.

But if you think more carefully about a seed, you will see that it is a great miracle. The colors, designs, smells and all the other qualities of the plants you see around are hidden in a tiny seed.

Actually, every seed is a wonderful data bank.

Seeds contain the information for each branch and leaf of the plant they belong to, the number and shape of the leaves, the color and thickness of the outside covering, the number and size of the tubes that transport water and nourishment; the height of the plant, whether or not it will bear fruit, and if it bears fruit, its taste, smell, shape and color.

In short, seeds contain all the information that can be known about a plant.

The redness of a rose, the veins in a leaf, the number of leaves, their texture and velvety softness and the proportion of substances that give a rose its smell are all pieces of this information.

It is this information that makes grapes come from little sacks filled with sweet water that grow on vine branches that look like dry sticks. The information that makes the skin of a grape different from a hazel-nut shell, and gives each of them the color, taste, smell, the vitamins it contains; what causes the watery texture of one and the dry texture of the other is all included in the embryo of every seed.

Human beings use computers to store information. Special computer components called hard disks are designed to store information. These high-tech devices are quite primitive when compared with a tiny seed. Within a seed there are hundreds of thousands of pages of information and complex systems that human beings have not yet been able to understand or replicate.

This is because Allah created the seed. And Allah brought into being the systems contained within it.

A tiny seed by itself is a proof of Allah’s incomparable and magnificent art of Creation.

Every seed is encompassed by Allah’s knowledge; it grows with His knowledge and becomes a plant.

Allah reveals this truth in a verse of the Qur’an:

The keys of the Unseen are in His possession. No one knows them but Him. He knows everything in the land and sea. No leaf falls without His knowing it. There is no seed in the darkness of the earth, and nothing moist or dry which is not in a Clear Book. (Surat Al-An‘am, 59)

Allah is He Who splits the seed and kernel. He brings forth the living from the dead, and produces the dead out of the living. That is Allah, so how are you perverted? (Surat Al-An‘am, 95)

The miracle in the ant

Modern day cities are formed when millions of people come together. People have always felt the need for rules and regulations in order to guarantee their peace and security. It would be impossible to do that without them.

Another fact about the modern life of society is individualism. Each individual in a society has his own aims and plans. Most individuals put their interests before anything else. The interests of society and other people come after those. That selfish morality means there are poor, hungry and homeless people all over the world.

Let us now imagine an enormous city. Imagine hundreds of thousands of individuals living in it. Yet no one considers his own interests. On the contrary, they put the interests of society and others first. Imagine everyone working with great self-sacrifice, with no terrible urge to be first. Imagine there is no conflict there.

Such a society probably goes beyond the bounds of human imagining. Yet such a society does really exist on the earth. And what is more, just about everywhere on it. The living things that constitute that miraculous society are ants.

Ants live in colonies of hundreds of thousands and even millions of individuals. Every one in the colony carries out its responsibilities to the full. No one creates any problems over its position or job. The important thing is the survival of the colony of which it is a part. To that end, each one will give up its life if necessary. It is impossible to find one hungry or homeless individual. That is because there is an enormous cooperation, harmony and sharing between them.

Even a single drop of water is shared. Foodstuffs are collected and stored in the nest to be shared out again. There is absolutely no selfishness among ants. Not one is at a loose end. Each one is part of a giant organization. Each one is devoted to the part of the organization outside itself.

Ants organize themselves in a flawless manner. Yet they have no hierarchy among them, and no ant organizes the colony. Despite that, every ant miraculously knows what it has to do. The distribution of labour was set out before they were born, and ants perform their jobs to perfection.

An ant colony is made up of ants with different functions. And if even one of those functions failed to be carried out, that would spell the end of the colony.

With their social life and social organization, so superior to that of man, ants are all proof of Allah’s art of creation.

Allah’s might and the art of His creation are to be seen in all living things. Ants are just one of the countless manifestations of Allah’s art of creation in the world.

In one verse, Allah says:

“Everyone in the heavens and earth belongs to Him. All are submissive to Him.” (Qur’an, 30: 26)

Beauty Hijacked!

Omneya Ayad

Young people especially teenagers are struggling to live up to Hollywood standards of beauty and fame. Zero size models in dazzling breath taking display outfits which reveal more than they cover. It has become very hard to counteract the preconceived notion of being cool, hip and beautiful if we are haunted by magazines, newspapers, movies; TV shows shoving down our throats one sugar coated definition of beauty.

Therefore, it should not be surprising that young people are obsessed with plastic surgeries. They want to look younger, cooler, and more beautiful and it is a nonstop open ended effort because one can not get enough of all that. One always seeks to beat others in this illusionary beauty pageant, so one would go under the knife countless number of times, and yet satisfaction would be an aim hard to get.

But why are people so keen to look beautiful instead of appreciating their inner beauty?
Why are they obsessed with purchasing the most expensive clothes instead of enriching their souls?
Why do they follow someone else’s standard of beauty instead of defining their own?

People, especially young ones, are trying so hard to “fit in” with the “cool people”. They are so afraid of being outsiders as no one likes to be all alone. So, they apply the old saying “if you can’t beat them, join them”. Therefore, even young people who might be having their own reservations on the preconceived notion of beauty will think twice before they voice their opinions as they can be easily labelled as outcasts.

The inner desire of belonging to a group and sharing common interests is the driving force behind young people’s submission to media standards of beauty. The dire need to gain acceptance of others is the reason behind cheerleading for this false notion of beauty.

The automatic downgraded look that people give to someone who does not fit the standards of beauty is not only harsh, but inhuman as well.

Who gets to decide that this standard is what beauty is all about?

Who says that if one is not starving oneself to remain thin, not wearing heavy make up every morning before going out, and not dressing in latest fashion, then one is not beautiful?

A reality check says that very few people can actually fit perfectly into these criteria so where does that leave the rest of us? We don’t need someone other than ourselves to define beauty for us. Beauty comes from inside not otherwise. It ekes its way from one's inner beautiful soul and personality to reach the surface . The real evidence is that even those who are seen as beautiful by the book, fail to see themselves as such. This is exactly what Dr. Phil once demonstrated in his show as he was explaining that while the extreme makeover program works on the outside, it leaves the inside with an emptiness that no number of plastic surgeries can fix.

An Example in Case

TV talent shows are gaining unprecedented popularity and an increased rating among the shows that are most viewed. Part of the reason why these shows are gaining ground is that the people have had enough of watching movies that provide no sense of reality.

Unfortunately these designed movies which are considered blockbusters are subliminally confining our minds to predefined standards of who deserves to be the prom queen, who is considered the coolest guy in high school, and who is the one who will end up in the street begging his way to get his next fix.

Suzan Boyle, the 47 year old woman who comes from a small village in Britain, managed to dazzle an audience who before she sang, was ready to boo her because she failed miserably on their beauty score sheet. However, once she started to sing, the situation took a different turn. The downgraded looks cast at her turned to utter surprise, and looks of admiration.

She dazzled them with her beautiful voice, but more importantly she shocked their standards of beauty and slammed their inhuman laws across the wall. She proved that she is a lot more than what the eyes can see. The cheering, the constant applause and the ratings that she gained because of the number of people who watched, exceeding 54 million people across the world, is solid proof that beneath the callous shell lies a real pearl.

This is an outcry for those who are so adamant to confine beauty to some frivolous standards which fail miserably in capturing the real essence of beauty. If the outer beauty is the real one , then no number of plastic surgeries can do the job for us. If having a zero size dress is the name of the game then more than 80 percent of women in the world are ugly plain and simple.

Moreover, if there is only one standard of beauty which is the outer beauty, then we would all simply be copycats of each other with no distinctions or individual merits. The truth of the matter is that beauty has many manifestations, but all of which stem from the inside. People would find someone beautiful if he or she has a kind heart, caring personality and great ethics. This is the kind of beauty that would actually appeal to the heart rather than catch the eyes.

Given that, all the people can simply be beautiful because ethics becomes the requirement, and personalities develop but looks do not. We can not be judged by things we don’t have and we are not responsible for. True standards are the ones based on real achievements and genuine efforts, but grading based on eye level perception are not meant to last for more than a look.

We need to think twice before passing instantaneous judgement on others because they can simply fail our notion by dazzling us with a standard of beauty that is more superior than the artificial standard designed by our media.
